Take the TEF exam for Canada with TFA

For immigration and citizenship procedures in Canada, the federal government requires proof of French language proficiency from applicants. This requirement aims to ensure that new arrivals can effectively communicate in both of the country’s official languages.

Since 2002, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has accepted the Test d'Évaluation de Français (TEF) as valid proof of French proficiency. The required TEF format for these processes is the TEF Canada.

The TEF Canada results are used to assess whether candidates meet the language criteria established by IRCC, which can influence their eligibility for immigration or citizenship. Candidates must achieve a minimum required score in each area to meet the requirements.

It is recommended that candidates prepare thoroughly by taking French courses at an accredited center like The French Academy before taking the test.
